Reginald D. Freeman is currently serving as the assistant fire chief and deputy director of Emergency Management for Hartford, Conn. Freeman has been awarded member status with the Institution of Fire Engineers, is accredited as a Chief Fire Officer Designee (CFO) and is a Fellow of Harvard University’s Senior Executives for State & Local Government. He serves on the IAFC’s Program Planning Committee and the NFPA Technical Committee for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications. Freeman is the appointed commissioner representing Diversity for the Commission on Professional Credentialing and is the director of training for the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs. He also serves as the vice president for the Industrial Fire & Life Safety Section of the IAFC. Chief Freeman has a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and a master’s degree in Executive Fire Service Leadership.
