Ferrara sets sales records in 2008

Chris Ferrara, founder and CEO of Ferrara Fire Apparatus, recently announced that 2008 sales at the Louisiana emergency vehicle manufacturer rose nearly 40%, as compared to 2007. Ferrara set sales records in their Inferno XD and Igniter XD custom chassis, aerial apparatus and the specialty vehicles market.  Especially strong was the company’s 4th quarter, which saw record sales of over $65 million.  Additionally, the company’s refurb and service center, located adjacent to the main manufacturing facility, had a significant increase over the previous year’s sales in terms of trucks refurbished and dollar amount.

“We feel very fortunate in a time when many say the economy is soft, to have our sales show a significant increase,” said Ferrara. “The market is extremely competitive and we have to work hard for each and every sale.  Our company has a reputation of building heavy duty fire apparatus that are custom designed for each fire department.  This reputation has enabled us to be successful in today’s marketplace, as everyone is looking for the most value for their budget.”

Additionally, Ferrara continues to sign contracts to supply apparatus and aerials for fire departments all over the country, including 11 pumpers in Houston, four pumpers in Indianapolis, and 17 pumpers in two different counties in Mississippi.
