Essex P.B. & R's Last Chance Rescue Filter delivers 15 minutes of breathable air to firefighters when they need it most. Designed to allow firefighters to escape when faced with an SCBA out-of air or malfunction emergency, the filter has been engineered so firefighters can remove the secondary regulator from their mask and replace it with the Last Chance Rescue Filter in less than 30 seconds. The filter works by converting CO to CO₂ and filtering out toxic gases common to fires, such as HCN and HCI. The filter is compact and lightweight, and it features a protective Nomex pouch that attaches to the firefighter's harness.
